ELIGIBILITY

The requirements for attending a college or university can be complex, it is your responsibility to know these requirements. There are three governing bodies, for collegent athletics, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

To be considered certified to participate in an athletic program, you are required to:

  • Be eligitable to graduate from high school

  • Have a GPA of 2.0 or better in a core curriculum of at least 13 academic classes

  • Have a combined SAT score of 820 or more

For participation in NCAA Division I and II, you have to register with the Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse. Potential student-athletes must register to be certified to attend a Division I or II college or university. The registration form will be mailed to you in your registration packet from ScoutingOnline, or you can receive one through your high school guidance counselor. You must complete the Student Release Form and mail the original copy, along with the $18.00 registration fee, to the Initial-Eligibilty Clearinghouse.
